Fire incidents caused Rs 6.3m loss to poultry

Karachi—Some 22,000 birds were burnt in three different fire incidents at three poultry farms in Pipri area during the month of November 2008 causing a loss of Rs 6.3 million. This was stated by Livestock Minister Abid Hussain Jatoi while replying to a question of Syed Marvi Rashdi during question hour in Sindh Assembly on Monday. He said that these fire incidents had occurred at Bilas, Shalimar and Al-Syed Poultry Farms, Pipri on November 24, 16 and 20 respectively due to short circuit.

I REGRET that I have but one life to give for my country.How often have we found ourselves infused with such deep all encompassing patriotism? How often do we repent only the fact that we are not blessed with many lives so that all could have been sacrificed for our land? How many times do we lament not having had the opportunity to shed our blood to save our country? Do we find ourselves secretly envying the martyrs who lay down their lives for that most noble of all causes, the cause of freedom of independence? Indeed every Pakistani will own up to having these feelings, for such patriotism, such devotion to the soil is in our very blood.
