6 medics held for corruption

RAWALPINDI—In an operation conducted on the night between Saturday and Sunday with the help of local police, Anti Corruption Establishment has arrested six culprits including Medical Superintendent, Deputy MS and Director Finance, involved in recruitment’s of doctors on bogus degrees in District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi. Six other persons are still at large and raids are underway to appreciated them.

Commercial use of residential units security threat

Islamabad—The concerned departments have been asked to take notice of commercial use of residential units in various sectors of federal capital which is posing security threats to the dwellers.  Citizens appealed that a comprehensive campaign should be launched against violators in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to stop any other activity in the areas which is only allowed for accommodation purposes particularly in wake of threats from terrorists.

Health experts for caution against dengue fever

Islamabad—A simple method to avoid the breeding of dengue virus mosquito is not to allow the fresh water to stay in any vessel for a week or more. Always keep changing the water at least once in five days, in flower pots, money plants and excessive water kept in trays of water pots and any water left in tires, bottles, or bath tubs, even water tanks, so that the dengue virus mosquito will not be able to complete its life cycle, health experts said.

Majority satisfied with Army performance

Islamabad—Pakistan army has grabbed top position for people support while the National Assembly got second in a row of the performances of different government institutions during a survey conducted by International Republican Institute (IRI) in different parts of the country. The army support has increased after Malakand operation as 89 percent people has said that armed forces are doing well while the graph of police department is declining continuously as compared to previous survey which stands on 34 percent. The survey was conducted by International Republican Institute (IRI), a US institute that maps the people opinions about their government performances in different fields.

Applications invited for uplift schemes

Islamabad—Parliamentarians have been urged to submit applications to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to identify development schemes in their respective constituencies for allocation of development funds, officials said.  Federal Minister Abdul Razaq A Thahim has invited applications under the People’s Works Programmes for the execution of community based schemes.
