Islamabad—The Higher Education Commission (HEC)
will meet the challenging targets for higher
education as put forth in the National Education
Policy-2009. This was stated by Dr. Javed
R. Laghari, Chairman HEC while addressing a
media conference at the conclusion of the
two-day Vice Chancellors’ Committee Meeting
hosted by the HEC from October 15-16, 2009.
Islamabad—The Capital Development Authority (CDA)
would consult the citizen Committee for planning
and executing the development projects, improve
the provision of civic amenities and revive the
green character of the federal capital.These
views were expressed by Imtiaz Inayat Elahi,
Chairman CDA, while presiding over a meeting of
the members of the Citizens Committee held here
Friday.
Islamabad—Secretary Ministry
of Environment, Kamran Lashari said on Friday
that Government of Pakistan, in collaboration
with the line federal ministries, provincial,
AJK. Gilgit Baltistan and FATA governments,
UNICEF, donors, private sector, NGOs and other
partners, has executed a comprehensive plan to
celebrate the Global Handwashing Day and reach
over 4 million children in 51000 schools through
various activities including seminars, quiz,
speech, painting and song competitions, puppet
shows, handwashing demonstrations and shows,
walks, hygiene sessions, interactive theatres,
sport events and lectures.
Islamabad—The Directorate of Health Services of
CDA, on the occasion of World Food Day, launched
a Special Campaign for checking the quality of
edibles in the Federal Capital and constituted
special Rapid Food Task Force to check the food
quality and hygienic conditions of the
Restaurants, Stores, Hotels etc specially
focusing on the Canteens and Food Selling Points
running in the Educational Institutions like
schools, colleges, Government and
Semi-Government Offices, Private Organizations.
Islamabad—The Argentine Embassy here will be
holding the Second Exhibition of Argentine Art
in Pakistan, with more than 45 paintings of 14
contemporary argentine artists. The first
exhibition hosted by the Argentine Ambassador to
Pakistan Rodolfo J. Martin-Saravia. held in 2007
was a spectacular success.
