Bomb rips thru Peshawar market
50 killed, over 100 injured in suicide blast

Peshawar—A deadly explosion, believed to be a suicide blast, at the most congested trade centre of the provincial metropolis Friday noon left at least 50 people dead and over hundred including kids and women seriously wounded. Condition of the many injured persons was described as critical hence the doctors at the major hospital of the town apprehend the death toll would go higher.

By-polls in Punjab LHC orders postponement

Lahore—Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday ordered postponement of bye-elections in Punjab province on Friday. The LHC gave the verdict on a petition filed by Punjab government seeking postponement of the by-elections in Punjab due to security reason. A single bench of the LHC comprised of Justice Saqib Nisar directed the Election Commission to issue new election schedule after consultation with political parties.

Islamabad—The Supreme Court on Friday issued contempt of court notices to the apex court judges who took oath under the Provisional Constitution Order (PCO) of November 3, 2007 in defiance to the restraint order passed by a seven-member bench of the court.
