FABULOUS is the word. The Chinese really were on
the occasion of their 60th year of Independence
day celebrations this time. They have always
been warm and hospitable, extremely courteous in
meetings and discussions but the reception held
this time at the consulate on 28th September was
extraordinary. Such receptions are normally held
on 30th of September, but our friends from the
Peoples Republic had it spread out this year to
four days—a day each in Karachi, Lahore,
Islamabad and then a fascinating show in
Beijing.
