Islamabad—Minister for Water and Power Raja
Pervez Ashraf said Friday the PPP-led government
was committed to resolving masses’ problems.
Speaking at an inauguration ceremony held in
connection with provision of electricity to
Katchi Abadies, Charles Colony at G-8/1 here, he
said elected members of the PPP were
successfully fulfilling their promises made with
masses during the election campaign.
Rawalpindi—Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) staged
a demonstration here on Friday to observe the
solidarity day with the people of Balochistan on
the call of its Chairman Imran Khan, in which
hundreds of party leaders and workers including
dozens of ladies participated. The rally was led
by Ijaz Khan Jazi, PTI’s candidate for
by-elections from the constituency NA-55,
Rawalpindi that started from Party Secretariat
“Ababeel House” and culminated at Committee
Chowk.
Islamabad—Parliamentary Secretary for Health
Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto told the Lower House of
the Parliament that Rs 11 billion have been
reserved for the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis
Control Programme. She informed that the
programme would be operationalised soon. She
said last year around 0.6 million children in
NWFP and FATA could not be administered polio
vaccine due to bad law and order situation.
Islamabad—Participants of a workshop on
Friday sought for incorporating disaster
management in schools and training institutes
curriculums so as to create large scale
awareness and culture of disaster prevention in
the country. They said that risk management
should be given top priority in policy
frameworks and budgetary allocations due to
intensity of disasters in the country.
Islamabad—The Chairman Senate, Mr. Farooq H.
Naek and Deputy Chairman Senate, Mr. Jan
Muhammad Khan Jamali have strongly condemned the
bomb blast occurring in a bus near Khyber Bazar,
Peshawar this afternoon which resulted in loss
of several precious lives and damage to
property, besides causes injuries to many.
