Rawalpindi—The Pakistan Army has expressed
serious concern over the Kerry-Lugar Bill saying
that its certain clauses were intrusive and
against the national interests and are
unacceptable..
Islamabad—A parliament discussion of the issue
began on a fiery note Wednesday night, with PML-N
lawmaker Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan claiming ‘each
and every page of the bill is reflective of the
insulting attitude towards Pakistan’. Prime
Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani told the Assembly
that the bill was not binding on Pakistan and he
vowed to build a consensus on it.
Washington—US Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton has said that the Kerry-Lugar aid bill
for Pakistan is very clear in its intent and a
sincere US effort to help Pakistanis improve
their lives. Addressing a joint press conference
with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi here
on Tuesday, after their meeting, the US
Secretary of State said that those who have
questions or doubts should read the legislation.
Peshawar—Important Taliban commander and a close
aide of Mullah Fazlullah the TTP Swat chief,
Nisar alias Ghazi Lala was among the nine
insurgents gunned down by the security forces in
Swat Wednesday. Commander Nisar was carrying ten
