Dollar falls hard

New York—The dollar fell hard Tuesday after a new report said Gulf states might stop using the US currency for oil transactions, despite denials by countries cited. A rate hike by Australia meanwhile helped lift commodity currencies and boost risk-taking, which also weighed on the greenback.
