Australia contain New Zealand to 200

Centurion—The masters of anti-climatic big finals were at it again. So much of this Champions Trophy has been about the underdogs, but the first half of the final was all about the top dawgs. It wasn’t Australia’s fault that New Zealand lost their captain Daniel Vettori to a hamstring injury, but what followed - a limp innings and a below-par target - was all down to their top-class aggressive limited-overs bowling and fielding.

Younis not disappointed over team showing in Champions Trophy

Karachi—Captain Younis Khan said on Monday that he was not disappointed with Pakistan team’s showing in ICC Champions Trophy and was happy that his team finished among the top four. I am however disappointed with our loss to New Zealand in the semifinals,” he told reporters at the Quaid-e-Azam International Airport on arrival from Johannesburg (South Africa) after taking part in the elite eight-nation contest.

Ochoa defends LPGA Navistar crown

Prattville (Alabama)—World number one Lorena Ochoa won her third title of the year with her second successful title defense of the season, capturing the LPGA Navistar Classic by four strokes. The 27-year-old Mexican star, who began the day with a three-stroke edge, fired a final-round 70 to finish 72 holes on 18-under par 270 and defeat Americans Michelle Wie and Brittany Lang by four strokes each on Sunday.
