He gave details of the plan at a news conference following a meeting with elected political leadership of the district at Punjab House here Tuesday.

Islamabad—The government parliamentarians supported the Kerry-Lugar Bill while the Opposition Members belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid opposed the Bill and termed it detrimental to the sovereignty and security of the country in a seminar entitled ‘Kerry-Lugar Bill: Myth and Realities.’

Govt to provide funds for uplift of NWFP areas: PM

Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the Government was committed to ensuring provision of funds for the uplift of underdeveloped areas of the NWFP.  While meeting a delegation of PPP MNAs belonging to NWFP at PM House here Tuesday the Prime Minister said the Government was taking short, medium and long-term measures for meeting energy shortage in the country. For this purpose, he said, rental power units and thermal and hydel power plants would be set up.

Paintings highlight women miseries

Islamabad—An exhibition of water colour paintings by Arjumand Awan was previewed her on Tuesday at Nomad Art Gallery (NAG) with a prime focus on the problems faced by women in society. His paintings with a series of Illusion, Awe and Dance depict the miserable condition of a woman which attract the human lover people to think about the miseries of women in society. All of the images have been used in symbolism in the paintings to address the issue in a soft manner.
