CM receives Pakistanis released from Saudi Arabia

Karachi—Five Pakistanis released from detention in Saudi Arabia for a fake narcotics smuggling case arrived here from Islamabad by a special plane in late hours on Saturday. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Deputy Convener MQM Rabita Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Sindh Law Minister, Ayaz Soomro and relatives of the released Pakistanis received them.

CDGK to expedite work on more water for city

Karachi—City district government taking measures to expedite additional supply of 100 million gallon water from Indus river of the approved quota for Karachi. City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Officials to submit the detailed feasibility report on bringing remaining 100mgd water of the approved quota from Indus River to city within a week so that work on this project could begin immediately.

Honesty of CAA Porter lauded

Karachi—The Civil Aviation Authority officials returned a heavy amount forgotten by the owner in a trolley basket at Airport here. CAA porter, Kaleemullah during his duty on Sunday found 100000, Saudi Riyal equal to (Pak Rs 2200,000/-) from a trolley basket in Concourse Hall Level-II at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

Teachers’ scale to be enhanced

Karachi—The Government of Sindh will soon enhance the scales of the teachers. This was announced by the Adviser to the Sindh chief Minister, Ms. Sharmila Faruqi. In a message on the eve of the World Teachers Day, said that the teachers’ BPS seven would be enhanced to nine and that of nine to 11 whereas the BPS scale 11 would be increased to 13.

Dow University to start liver transplant

Karachi—The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) is geared to start liver transplant within two years. In this respect a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed here on Sunday between the DUHS and the Parkway Health Singapore on the occasion of the First Dow University Health Expo 2009 for Liver Transplant Programme.
