Peshawar rocked
3 explosions at different sites, panic prevails
4 family members killed in KA shell-fire

Peshawar—The provincial metropolis Peshawar came under rockets attacks on Saturday wee hours though the attempt remained abortive and no human loss was reported from anywhere, and the huge explosions at three different sites caused panic and harassment among the Peshawarites.

However, at least four of a family including women were killed and many others including a couple of children received serious injuries when a mortar shell landed at a house in Khyber Agency on Saturday morning.

On the other hand around a dozen miscreants surrendered before the security forces in Swat and as many as six soldiers were seriously injured when the militants attacked a military check post in North Waziristan Agency.

According to officials and the locals at least three rockets were fired from unknown location at Pishtakhar, Bara Gate and Nawa Kalay areas in the outskirts of Peshawar around 2 a.m on the night between Friday and Saturday.

The projectiles as the residents say, exploded with big bang creating panic among them. The Police said no human loss was caused in these separate incidents of terrorism, however, the building of a high school was razed to the ground when the rocket hit the school building at Bara Gate area. The police said that two rockets landed in fields near Nawa Kalay it has registered the case against unknown miscreants and started investigations.

In the meanwhile at least four people including women were killed whereas three others were injured when during the ongoing operation against the trouble makers in Bara Khyber Agency a mortar fired from unknown location landed at a house at Baka Khel area in Tehsil Bara.

“As the operation is underway in Bara sub-division of Khyber Agency the security forces fired mortar shells at the suspected hideouts of militants”. Sources in the political administration said adding one of the mortars landed at a house of Saida Jan at Haji Dhand Kalay in Bakakhel area killing four people whereas three sustained injuries.

The injured including two children have been shifted to Peshawar for treatment

On the other hand as the search and clearance operations continued in Malakand and North Waziristan agency a dozen more militants voluntarily laid down their arms before the security forces in Swat. However, the insurgents attack at a military check post in North Waziristan agency left some six soldiers seriously injured.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) updates as many as five militants voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Barshaur and Kuz Bamakhela near Matta.

Like wise five more terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Matta and Sambat while 2 terrorists laid down their arms before the security forces at Alamganj area in Swat.

In the North Waziristan Agency, the ISPR update says, terrorists fired rockets and small arms at security forces check posts of Razmak and Saidullah in which six soldiers received injuries. Terrorists also launched ambush with rockets and small arms at security forces check posts Ghariom near Mir Ali the ISPR said.
