CJP takes more suo motu notices
Islamabad—Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice
Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry Friday taking suo motu action has
directed the DPO Sargodha to recover the two abducted girls and
produce them before the District & Session Judge Sargodha for
recording their statements and submit a comprehensive report.
The Chief Justice took suo motu notice on an application sent by
Khushi Mohammad s/o Sher Mohammad r/o Sargodha complaining therein
that on 14.12.2008, his two minor daughters namely Samina Yasmeen
and Robina Yasmeen aged 12 and 14 years were kidnapped by Mohammad
Ijaz Imam Masjid, Colony Tasawaraabad, Chak No. 16 Shamali, Tehsil
Bhalwal anlogwith three other persons.
Mohammad Yar co-villager was eyewitness of the occurrence who saw
the accused persons and identified Mohammad Ijaz when they kidnapped
the minor girls. On 18.12.2008 complainant lodged an FIR at Police
Station Bhalwal against Muhammad Ijaz and three others.
However, police did not recover the minor girls because Mohammad Yar
Bakhar ASI was supporting the accused party and no action could be
taken for the arrest of remaining culprits, the father of abductees
said.
While taking another suo motu notice Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad
Chaudhry issued direction to the WAPDA authorities to submit Award
List of the candidates who appeared in written examination. He also
directed the WAPDA to put up the case before him on 07.10.2009 with
the Award List of the candidates after obtaining the same from the
said department.
The Chief Justice took suo motu notice on an application received by
him with the complaint that one Mohammad Rehan Yousaf Advocate had
passed the written examination of Deputy Director (Legal) held by
the WAPDA authorities and called for interview but no appointment
letter has been issued to him so far as he had no source of
recommendation.
Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry asked Chairman WAPDA to submit
his comments on the case.
Meanwhile, in his third suo motu notice Chief Justice of Pakistan on
application of Mst. Tassawar Mehboob, District Education Officer
(EE-W), Chakwal against her dishonour at the hands of one Imran
Qaiser Abbas by publishing a news through smear campaign in the
print media has issued direction to the authorities concerned that a
copy of the Complaint dated 24.08.2009, annexure attached therewith
and a copy of Judicial Report dated 10.09.2009 be sent to DCO
Chakwal for proceeding against the Newspaper.
A copy of same documents be sent to DPO Chakwal for taking action
against the newspaper i.e. its Reporter and Editors, in accordance
with law, he further directed.
