Child among 10 dead, 13 injured in road accident

Karak—At least 10 persons were killed and 13 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into deep ravine at Shaheedian area here on Friday, SHO Karak police station Muhammad Amin Marwat told APP.

Baba Ghundi Festival enthralls thousands

Gilgit—The first-ever Baba Ghundi Festival held in the Chipurson valley of upper Hunza fascinated thousands of enthusiasts from all over Gilgit-Baltistan, giving them a chance to recognize the discipline and cultural diversity of the people living in the valley. The main event was held in the Ispenj village of Chipurson, where traditional songs and games like polo, buz kashi and mindek received applauds from the spectators.

Motion against Mufti Muneeb

Peshawar—ANP MPA Saqibullah Khan Chamkani on Friday moved a privilege motion in NWFP assembly against chairmanship of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. Acting speaker Khushdil Khan presided over the session. Saqibullah Chamkani presented the privilege motion against Mufti Muneeb stating that by challenging the decision of NWFP government, Mufti Muneeb has damaged the privilege of the entire assembly and people rights. Later, the privilege motion was approved and handed over to concerned committee.

Revive Tourism policy soon: Minister

Naran Valley—Federal Minister for Tourism Maulana Ataur Rehman said on Friday that federal government was endeavouring to promote tourism sector by developing tourism outlets in the country. Addressing as chief guest at the concluding ceremony of a two days conference on ‘promoting tourism in Pakistan’ here, he said the federal government was striving for construction and development of tourism outlets in the country by allocating extensive resources to bolster the soft image of the country on one hand and attract foreign investment on the other. He said that Allah Almighty has bestowed Pakistan with beautiful areas and valleys having natural beauty that need to be fully exploited. Kaghan valley remained the centre of interest of national and international tourists that need to be projected at global level, he added.
