1,000 private schools to be opened: Minister
CS directs early approval of Education City Master Plan

Karachi—As many as 1,000 private schools would be opened by the government in 10 districts of Sindh. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Education, Pir Mazhar- ul- Haq. He was speaking at a seminar here. He said that these schools would be opened in those districts where 68 to 72 percent of children had not acquired education.

Registration of private candidates at FUUAST

Karachi—The registration of private candidates for degree and masters levels at the Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) will commence from October 1. An announcement here on Tuesday said that at the M.A. level two more disciplines have been included from the year 2009. These are International Relations and English.

Karachi—The British Council is expanding its academic activities in Pakistan. This was stated by the Director Marketing and Communications, British Council Pakistan, Fasi Zaka. Karachi—Expressing her profound grief and sorrow over human losses in Khori Garden tragedy on Monday, the City Naib Nazim, Nasrin Jalil, visited Civil Hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. She was accompanied by Nazim Saddar Town, Mohammed Dilawar, Nazim UC-6 Gazdarabad, Nasir Ajmeri and TMO Mukhtar Hussain.
