Commuters face difficulties in obtaining train tickets

Rawalpindi—People standing in long queues at the Pakistan Railways booking offices here and in other cities from Peshawar to Karachi to Quetta is a proof that majority of Pakistanis prefer to celebrate Eidul Fitr at their home towns with their near and dear ones but how many would manage to fulfill their aspirations depend a lot on means of transportation and top among them Pakistan Railways.

PIA asked not to bow down before PALPA


Islamabad—The Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production, which met at the Parliament House here Monday under the Chairmanship of Lt. Gen (R) Javed Ashraf, asked the PIA management not to give in to blackmailing tactics being used by Pakistan Airlines Pilot’s Association (PALPA) especially with regard to unjustified hefty increase in salaries demanded by the Association which would further increase the economic crunch being faced by the national flag carrier.

Islamabad—Professional Development Centre - of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has offered professional diploma in hospital and health-care management in Rawalpindi and Lahore. This 96 hours evening program comprising of a series of 8 modules of 2 weeks each, will develop skills and enable an individual to understand the concepts and techniques of management as applicable to hospitals and health-care organizations.

Hazara University gets FM Radio licence

Abbottabad—Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA), has formally awarded licence to Hazara University (Garden Campus), Mansehra to establish and operate FM Radio Broadcast Station. This was stated by Prof. Qazi Rashid Ahmad, Head of Administrative Block of the varsity while talking to APP here Monday.
