MoH to provide standard preventive care service

Islamabad—Secretary Hea-lth, Khushnood Akhtar Lashari on Thursday said the Ministry is taking steps to provide standard preventive care services to the people through the Expanded Programme on Immunization. Chairing the National Inter-agency Co-ordination Committee meeting here, the Secretary said that immunization was the backbone of the health system. USAID to give grants for professionals

Islamabad—The United States will provide grants to train health professionals of Pakistan to control the spread of disease in collaboration with regional neighbours. The programme implemented by Health Services Academy in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO) will train health professionals in vector-borne disease control. Residents express concern over uncleanliness

Islamabad—The residents of different sectors including I, G and F series of the Federal Capital have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation cleanliness in their respective areas. They said heaps of garbage, scattered liquid and solid waste and mushrooming of a large number of bushes along the roads and streets need immediate attention. The residents of sector G-7,G-8,G-9,I-9,I-10 and adjoining areas alleged the concerned authorities for negligence of cleanliness. NA body takes notice of college incident

Islamabad—National Assembly Standing Committee on Education has taken serious notice of the untoward incident, which occurred in Federal Government College for Boys F-10/4 on Wednesday. The committee directed the Secretary Education Abdul Rauf Chaudhry to hold independent inquiry of the incident and take serious action against the culprits involved. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Abid Sher Ali at the Parliament House on Thursday. The chairman on the occasion said that this act is actually an insult of the educational institutes and any person involved in this case should be punished according to the law.

Newsletter appears on IIUI Website

Islamabad—New Issue of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Newsletter is available on university website (www.iiu.edu.pk). According to the Newsletter, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has called for eliminating causes of terrorism by providing more & more employment to the youth, says a press release issued here on Thursday. This appeared in his views carried by the new Issue of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Newsletter which appeared here Thursday.
