Shahbaz lauds role of Army in Swat operation

Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif has said that successful military
operation in Malakand, Swat and Dir is a big
achievement of Pakistan Army for which Army
Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani deserves
appreciation. He said that the Army operation
has given a fatal blow to militancy, terrorism
and extremism and the names of Army Jawans who
embraced Shahadat in this operation will be
written in golden letters in the national
history. He said that after restoration of peace
in the NWFP, it is now the responsibility of
federal and provincial governments to work
dedicatedly for normalizing life in the affected

has rebutted the denial of extra-judicial
killings by security agencies in Swat operation
by ISPR’s Swat Media Centre and has demanded of
the government to hold a transparent and
impartial inquiry into this issue by a

No death due to
gastro vaccine: Spokesman Staff Reporter
Lahore—Punjab Health Department has said that no
death has occurred in a village of Chichawatni
due to Gastroenteritis vaccine.A spokesman of
the health department said here Monday that
Nooran Bibi (35) w/o Allah Ditta r/o Chak
No.31/14-L and Mafia Bibi (13/14) d/o Ameer of
same town died on 10th and 11th August
respectively whereas the medical camp was set up
in the village on 13th August. |

PU to establish
schools for Swat affectees Lahore—Vice
Chancellor Punjab University (PU), Prof. Dr.
Mujahid Kamran has said that PU will establish
two schools for children in Swat and Malakand.He
was addressing a press conference here Monday to
brief the media about the medical services
provided by the PU medical team to the
Internally Dispalced Persons (IDPs) of Swat and
Malakand between May 27 and July 17. |

expediting work on dev schemes
