work closely to enhance trade

Islamabad—Law and order situation in Pakistan
was not as bad as was projected in the media and
direct interaction between the businessmen of
Pakistan and Indonesia was essential to remove
this misperception and to improve bilateral
trade between the two brotherly Islamic
countries. Mr. Ishak Latuconsina, Ambassador of
the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan said this
while addressing the business community at
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI)

Pak to share
commercial intelligence with S Lanka

Karachi—Pakistan was prepared to share vital
commercial intelligence with Sri Lanka,the
country’s Trade Authority said. Director General
of Pakistan’s Trade and Development
Authority(TDAP), Nusrat Iqbal Jamshed, said at
his Karachi office last week, that they believed
in the theory that whatever was good for
them,should be shared with other stakeholders. |

Oil prices hit
one-month highs
London—Oil prices rose to one-month peaks on
Monday as the dollar retreated, and on positive
economic data which pointed to a pick-up in
demand for crude, traders said. Brent North Sea
crude hit 72.89 dollars, the highest point since
June 30, while New York light sweet crude
reached a one-month peak of 70.95 dollars. |

2007 loses validity

Lahore—Former Secretary Commerce and the Member
Advisory Board Hilal Expo Pakistan Inamul Haq
has said that Trade Ordinance 2007 has lost its
validity. He said this while speaking at a
function held in honor of Ambassador-designate
to Senegal, Abdul Mateen Khan, here at the
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on
Monday. LCCI President Mian Muzaffar Ali, Vice
President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, former Senior Vice
President Yaqoob Tahir Izhar and Executive
Committee Member Shahzad Azam Khan also spoke on
the occasion. |

ABAD disappointed
with HBFC’s loan disbursement
Karachi—The Association of Builders and
Developers (ABAD) has regretted that during the
last six to eight months the HBFC loan
disbursement has fallen to a pitiable level
while powers of loan approval process
transferred to the Credit Management Committee
from Zonal to Head Office. |
