Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has said that the country’s form of government
was neither parliamentary nor Presidential, but
a hotchpotch of both. He was responding to a
question asked by a student of International
Islamic University (IIUI), after addressing the
7th convocation of the university here at
Convention Centre on Sunday. The constitutional
reforms are being brought in the constitution,
he said and vowed that the constitution of 1973
will be restored after introducing proper
amendments into it.

environment which forced the electricity
consumers to bear 19 percent increase in tariff
during 2008-09 and now they are fearfully
looking at yet another increase of 17 percent
during 2009-10 with intention to phase out
subsidy of Rs56 billion being given by the

Islamabad—Two worldclass mining companies,
Barrick of Canada and Antofagasta of Chile, have
joined interests to invest $3 billion for the
mining of copper and gold in Chagai district in
Balochistan. The investment would be made during
current fiscal year.
