CM seeks unity to win war against insurgents

Peshawar— Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that completion of mega projects like Abdul Wali Khan University, Bacha Khan Medical College, Benazir Shaheed Children Hospital and Mardan-Swabi bypass would play a pivotal role in bringing District Mardan at par with the developed cities of the country.

Consumers advised to avoid lavish use of electricity

Peshawar— Chief Executive Officer Tribal Areas Electricity Supply Company (TESCO) Engr Rustam Zad Gul has asked the consumers in FATA to avoid use of air conditioners, local made electric tandoor and other high consumptive electric appliances during current summer season as it cause overloading of the power supply system According to a press release of the company issued here Saturday, he said that major cause of load management and low voltage in FATA was lavish use of electricity by the consumers.

Computerized balloting of Hajj on Aug 6

Islamabad—Computerized balloting of applications for selecting eighty thousand prospective pilgrims under the government hajj scheme will be held on the 6th of August as the last date for filing hajj application under this scheme has been fixed as 11th July, 2009.

FC foils terror bid

Quetta— Frontier Corps Balochistan arrested an alleged terrorist and recovered arms and ammunition from him here Saturday, an FC official said. According to the official, an FC patrolling party nabbed a suspect at the Western Bypass when he was fleeing after confronting the security vehicle.

MPs asked to file statements of assets by Sept 30

Islamabad—Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Hamid Ali Mirza has asked the Members of the Parliament and Provicial Assemblies to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their own, their spouses and dependents to the election commission by 30th September, 2009.
