Peshawar—To take revenge of their massive
destruction both in terms of men and material at
the hands of Qaumi Lashkar, the enraged Taliban
fighters early Saturday morning attacked the
Razakars of the armed lashkar, killing at least
12 lashkar men while seven militants also
perished in the pitched gun battle breaking out
in remote Ambar tehsil of Mohmand Agency.
Islamabad—Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar
Muhammad Chaudhry has said that an efficient and
organized judicial system would be set up to
ensure the provision of speedy and inexpensive
justice to the people. He was addressing the
inaugural session of the two day conference on
the implementation of “National Judicial Policy
2009” in Islamabad on Saturday.
Islamabad—Top political and military leadership
have expressed their resolve to continue ongoing
operation against militants in Malakand and
South Waziristan and says any foreign technical
assistance would be helpful in fulfilling the
purpose. According to Presidential spokesman
Farhatullah Babar, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf
Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff called on
President Asif Ali Zardari at the President
House on Saturday and discussed issues relating
to security situation in the country.
Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has directed the Ministry of Petroleum and
Natural Resources to adopt proactive approach
towards evolving an integrated energy plan by
taking all stakeholders on board to meet the
future energy requirements of the country.
Kabul—Militants exploded a vehicle outside the
gates of a U.S. coalition base in eastern
Afghanistan on Saturday, sparking a two-hour
gunbattle that ended when American troops called
in airstrikes, officials said. Two U.S. troops
were killed and four were wounded.

that Pakistan attaches high value to its
friendship and brotherly relations with UAE and
urged for further enhancing the socio-economic
and trade ties between the two countries.
Lahore—The traders here Saturday observed
complete shutter-down strike Saturday against
price hike, load shedding and massive increase
in petroleum prices. Anjuman Tajiran Pakistan
and other trade organizations had given the
strike call for complete shutter down and
announcement was made urging all the traders to
keep all commercial and business centers closed
on Satirday.
