Islamabad—Federal Minister for Science and
Technology, Muhammad Azam Khan Swati said that
Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation
Cooperation (APLAC) has declared Pakistan
National Accreditation Council (PNAC) a Mutual
Recognition Arrangement (MRA) signatory of APLAC
and ILAC. He said that while addressing a press
conference here on Tuesday. Swati said that this
is landmark achievement as PNAC is the first
ever public sector Pakistani organization
evaluated by foreign experts.
Karachi—Pakistan’s leading Paints company, ICI
Pakistan Ltd (part of the AkzoNobel Group) has
announced the extension of its partnership with
the Japanese Pre-treatment Chemicals giant,
Nihon Parkerizing Co. An agreement to this
effect was signed in Tokyo earlier this month by
Dr. Amir Jafri, Vice President, ICI Paints and
Mr. S. Ono, President & COO, Nihon Parkerizing
Co.
Islamabad—LG Electronics, , has made its
groundbreaking New Scarlet LCD TV available
across the whole of the GCC. The new design and
pioneering technology has pushed the boundaries
of flat panel TVs, including a look that adds a
new dimension to the market and a unique
Bluetooth feature for greater compatibility with
cell phones, headsets, notebooks and PC’s. It
was this innovation that led to the launch of
the LG60 last year, the first LG Scarlet TV
model. LG applied a brilliant scarlet red to the
rear panel of the TV, never before considered as
a design element.
Tianjin—European aviation giant Airbus delivered
the first A320 aircraft made at its factory in
China on Tuesday, saying the event symbolised
its long-term focus on the growing Chinese
market. A giant red curtain was pulled back to
reveal the jet in a hanger during a ceremony at
the factory outside the northern Chinese city of
Tianjin. The jet was the first to be completed
at an Airbus factory outside Europe and company
CEO Thomas Enders said it underlined the
consortium’s long-term relationship with China,
one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation
markets.
Islamabad—Private sector should be assigned
enhanced role in implementation of newly
approval National Youth Policy so that maximum
youngsters could benefit from this policy. This
was stated by Mian Shaukat Masud, President,
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI)
while addressing a conference on implementation
process of Youth Policy, jointly organized by
ICCI and Center for International Private
Enterprise (CIPE) at Serena Hotel , Islamabad .
He assured the commitment of private sector to
assist and advice the Ministry of Youth Affairs
in the implementation process of newly approved
Youth Policy.
