Islamabad—Advisor on Finance Shaukat Tarin has
said that although economy has suffered setbacks
due to security challenges, it has now come back
on track and moving forward towards real growth.
Rawalpindi/ Peshawar—As the “Operation Rah-e-Rast”
gains more momentum, another 31 terrorists
including a number of foreigners were killed in
Malakand, Bannu and South Wazirastan Agency and
50 were injured. One Security forces personnel
embraced Shahadat while 4 were injured.
Peshawar—A deadly bomb blast at a congested
vegetable market in Dera Ismail Khan (D I Khan)
Sunday left at least eight people dead and
around forty others seriously injured. The
condition of many wounded persons was described
as critical.

groups challenging President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad’s re-election tried to keep pressure
on authorities. Anti-riot police lashed back and
the regime blocked Internet sites used to rally

EVERY summer, Israel makes it a point to hurl
salvos of threats against Lebanon with a view to
terrorising its people and wrecking the tourist
season. And for years on, this devious practice
has continued. A few times the threats have
graduated into military offensives, the latest
of which was the one in the summer of 2006 when
Israel unleashed a blitzkrieg on south Lebanon
with disastrous effect.
