Lahore— A suicide bomber blew himself up at
Jamia Naeemia in Garhi Shahu area here
immediately after Friday prayers killing
renowned religious scholar Allama Dr. Sarfraz
Naeemi and five others. The incident occurred
when Allama Sarfraz Naeemi, administrator of
Jamia Naeemia, returned to his office in the
premises of the mosque after leading Friday
prayers.
Peshawar—Yet another deadly blast during the
Juma congregation, this time at a mosque in a
military compound in Nowshera Friday left at
least 8 worshippers dead and more the 90 others
seriously injured. The medics at various
hospitals have described the condition of many
inured as precarious. It is feared that majority
of the victims were the soldiers who had
gathered to offer Juma prayer in the mosque
situated at Army Supply depot. Some reports put
the death toll at more than 10.
Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has said about two million internally displaced
persons have been registered in the relief camps
so far and the government is working hard to
provide them maximum facilities.
