Rawalpindi—As the Operation Rah-e-Rast
continues, another 23 terrorists were killed in
various areas of Malakand and Dir, while a
terrorist commander Wali Ullah surrendered to
Army.
Peshawar—An organization which calls itself
Abdullah Azzam Shaheed Brigade (AASB) has
claimed responsibility of the Tuesday’s bomb
blast at PC Hotel in Peshawar.
Quetta—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has reiterated that the PPP was committed to
delete the 17th amendment and 58-B in pursuance
of the Charter of Democracy and the process had
been initiated to move amendments in the
constitution in the National Assembly.
Karachi—At least three people have been killed
and 10 others were injured in firing at Northern
Bypass area, here on Wednesday. According
Karachi-bound rally of Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party
STPP was stopped forcibly by police when arrived
at the Northen Bypass. The protesters resisted
the police and scuffled with the law enforcers
forcing them to baton charge and fire on the
rally’s attendees. In police firing, three
protesters were killed and several others were
injured who were brought to nearby hospitals.
Bannu—Over 70 to 80 miscreants of Jani Khel and
Baka Khel areas have been killed in security
forces operation in areas of FR Bannu during
last two days.
Islamabad—The Federal Government has set Rs. 421
billion for Annual Public Sector Development
Programme while an amount of Rs. 139 billion
have been reserved for energy programmes for
budget 2009-10. The provincial governments would
spend Rs. 200 billion separately under their
annual development programmes.
Terror again struck the provincial metropolis,
in a short span of 12 days. Though this time the
apparent target was the lone five star hotel of
the town located in the extremely sensitive area
of Peshawar, the insiders believe the assault
was actually meant for the high value target
present in the hotel.
