Peshawar—Provincial metropolis Peshawar was
Thursday rocked by three powerful blasts leaving
at least 10 people dead and over 100 seriously
injured. While two high intensity explosions
ripped through the historic Qissa Khawani Bazaar
playing havoc in the area in the afternoon, a
suicide bomber struck at a Police Check post in
Matni Kohat road in the evening killing as many
as three people and leaving more than a dozen
others including cops wounded.
Rawalpindi—The security forces have killed seven
more miscreants in the ongoing operation in
various areas of Swat while four were
apprehended during the last twenty four hours.
Four soldiers embraced Shahadat and twelve
others injured.
Lahore—Mr Zahid Malik, Editor-in-Chief, Pakistan
Observer, has suggested to Prime Minister Syed
Yousuf Raza Gilani to convene an All Parties
Conference to discuss just one point agenda: The
issue of nuclear assets.
Risalpur—Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal
Rao Qamar Suleman has said targeting the drones
and taking them down is not a problem and
Pakistan Air Force is fully capable for the
purpose; however, any decision in this regard
rests with the parliament and the government.
Lahore—Former Prime Minister and PML-N Quaid
Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that he took the
decision for nuclear tests of 28th May,1998 for
the defence of the country and upholding the
honour of the nation.
Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has said that at this difficult juncture of the
history, country needs unity and harmony among
all segments of the society to overcome
militancy and other challenges being faced by
the country.
