  Why not a roving President?

Zaheer Hussein

Why not have a roving President who loves to remain away from country, in fire or out of fire? He can throw few buckets of begged dollars to give his input no matter what it costs to national sovereignty and its pride. He must remain an absolute ruler more despotic than his NRO mentor, Musharraf. He must trespass parliament resolutions at will, delay inordinately passing peace accord on nazame adle to appease Obama, adjouring parliament suddenly to circumvent giving guideline (can he think of some giving him any advice) before he left to meet his mentors in USA and brother Karzai, enemy of Pakistan. While 15 lakh people of Swat, Malakand, Buner, Dir etc region have been made refugees, he hops stops and jumps in foreign capitals to get ton loads of fresh oxygen from his fond cities.

Because, when he comes back, he cannot walk ten feet outside the President prison house without costing nation one million dollars for every occasion. Everything happens under the watch of PPP-AZ toadies, MQM, MMA, ANP. Unfortunately Long March stopped at Gujranawala gave the worst ever incompetent clout of PPP-AZ, MMA, MQM, ANP government more opportunities to destroy national peace into present tragedy where disintegration, insurgencies, separatism movements starks us and poor have been plundered by few looters due to the rampant corruption, misgovernance and incompetence. Let there be new Long March to get country rid of the enemies, corrupts of nation within and outside to save our independence. May Allah save Pakistan, Amin! —Hyderabad

  Presidential tour

Col Riaz Jafri (Retd)

There is a mixed reaction about President Zardari’s recent visit to USA. Whereas the official spokesmen rate it as a great success, others find instances in it to criticise. I for one found him conducting himself reasonably well so much so that during the last leg of his tour the President was exuberating a little over- confidence than required. While addressing a small gathering or a press conference yesterday in London Mr. Zardari used expressions like, “I have asked my ambassador to ——-“ and “My Embassy here has done ——“ probably conveying his total control over the affairs.

I though the Embassies and the Ambassadors were that of a country and not of the Head of the State (unless he/she was a monarch). In any case we don’t have an embassy or an ambassador in the UK. We have a High Commission and a High Commissioner there. I hope, we are still in the Common Wealth?! —Rawalpindi

  Wither hockey coverage?

S Zafar

Pakistan has luckily reached the final of the Asia Cup Championship 2009 currently being played in Kuantan, Malaysia. But what a shame that no television network, be it local or international, is telecasting the tournament depriving tens of hundreds of hockey lovers from the thrill of the game. Ironically, Pakistan’s national game has come to such a pass that no TV channel is interested any longer in showing this game for the passionate hockey lovers. Not only that, our good old Radio Pakistan which used to make arrangements of the audio coverage of the sports tournaments from every nook and corner of the world in the past has given up this policy for quite some time now. Furthermore, there is no website which could keep the hockey lovers current on the match-to-match situation of this important tournament. —Karachi

  Ostriched democracy

Salman Ali

We are always right, our leaders gave sacrifices of lives, my democracy, we inherited a worst economy and dictatorship, I do no not know, I was in prison, India is in every Pakistani, Taliban threaten me and world, last but not the least ‘I’ etc are the themes PPP-Z rests its claim to rule more dictatorially than Musharraf. He used kings party ML-Q, MMA, MQM, 58-2B, 17TH Amendment, blew to winds respects of institutions and parliament, despotically trespassed the constitutional norms of his non-partisan office etc to prolong his rule and pattern goes on. However, there was yet one redeeming feature of strong opposition of, ML-N, JI, TI, PPP-BB later NROed into docility, till Mr Zardari threw out his NRO mentor Musharraf to become totally subservient to USA, UK, NATO, India to become worst ever dictator.

The worst goes on happening on national fronts; economic, security, political, electricity, infrastructure, agriculture, industrial, foreign affairs, FATA, Bolichistan, Swat due to the failed, in sagacious, incompetence and flawed policies of PPP-Az dictated by the President beyond his constitutional role with opposition voices outside parliament mainly of Imran Khan or JI. MQM, MMA, sycophants continue to remain steadfast with ruling party to let parliament trampled under the diktats of President’s wishes. Unfortunately, ML-N repeatedly stung by PPP-AZ breach of national promises remains docile or tight lipped to pin point the horrendous wrongs of Mr Zardari who cannot step out of his president house without costing nation one billion rupees and opts to remain out of country lurching it crisis to appease his mentors, USA, UK most of the time.

On Swat though entire nation is behind defense forces but ninety percent are the wrong decisions of President’s policies responsible for worst crisis in frontiers of Pakistan and Bolchistan. This party must go and fresh, free, fair elections to save our country. However, there should be earliest end to Fazalullah insurgency so that two million refugees go back to their homes before it becomes another volcano. God bless Pakistan. —Multan

  What is the solution?

Sony Cheenabi

As you all know of the tragic quagmire of political, socio-economic, insurgencies that sinks us deeper and deeper every day. Who is responsible for it? It is incompetence, misgovernance, inefficiencies, rampant corruption, loot and plunder, sky rocketing profiteering and prices of bare essentials killing poor, casinos of stock, estate, estate development, commodity, money markets, unmerited appointment in institutions, cabinets, prevaricating restoration of judges till 15th March 9, President acting most partisan, indulging in worst partisan politics, ultra vires of constitution, disrespecting parliament supermacy, appeasing USA, UK, India, Afghanistan to execute the agenda of NRO mentors USA.UK and holding on to 17th amendment, 58-2B etc.

This has also triggered present insurgencies, unrest, disintegrating tendencies inflamed by India, Afghanistan, UK, USA. Another tragic thing is that present government has lost is complete trust for handling domestic and foreign affairs, breaching, backtracking on pledges. The best and immediate solution of present quagmire is that present government and President must go and caretaker national government is formed to save the country from disintegration as aimed by India, UK, USA. Musharraf must also be tried for his treacheries. —Mandi Bahudin
