Washington—President Asif Ali Zardari had a
meeting in the White House here with President
Barack H Obama. Both the leaders discussed wide
ranging matters relating to terrorism, extremism
along Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Pakistan’s
needs for substantial aid to meet the challenges
of terrorism and strengthened role of
international community including of the USA to
deal with south Asian situation.
Peshawar—As the insurgents continue to occupy
most of Mingora City including all the important
government offices in Malakand division , the
PAF gunship helicopters went for incessant
bombings of the militants hideouts in Swat and
the outskirts specially of Mingora the emerald
mines which remained under the occupation of
Taliban since long.
Washington—Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari
on Tuesday insisted that his country’s nuclear
arsenal is “definitely safe,” despite growing
concerns about recent gains by the Taliban in
the country’s tribal regions.
Rawalpindi—In all 37 militants were killed while
four security personnel embraced martyrdom and
six others sustained injuries during the ongoing
operation by Security Forces in various parts of
Swat on Wednesday.
Islamabad—Mian Nawaz Sharif has vowed to
forcefully confront any attempt aimed at
abrogating the constitution and dissolution of
the Parliament and the Judiciary. “We will stop
those hands and marching feet who will try to
break the constitution, Parliament and Courts”.
Islamabad—In a positive development, the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) has permitted Pakistan to
construct bridges on distributaries and minors
in Chashma Right Bank Canal division and Taunsa
Sharif from the saving of its loan utilized in
the construction of the Chashma Right Bank Canal
(CRBC), which got completed in December 2002.
In Pakistan there is a war between security
forces and anti-Pakistan terrorists who call
themselves “Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan” or (TTP).
It is important to note that war against TTP
militants is being waged by security forces in
the absence of a whole-hearted and energetic
participation from political Government, leaders
and civil society.
