Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif has said that government will completely
protect rights of small farmers and no one will
be allowed to exploit them. He said that payment
of wheat at fixed rates to the farmers will be
ensured at all costs so that they could get due
return of their hard work. The Chief Minister
directed that action should be taken against the
middle-men getting gunny bags illegally and
arrest them within 24 hours. He said that strict
action should also be taken against the officers
and officials of the Food Department who
deprived the poor farmers of their rights by
providing bardana to the middle-men.

Sial has said that the institutions of Anjuman
Himayat-e-Islam are the educational heritage of

the protest demonstration of April 29 which it
had announced against Punjab Government for not
ensuring availability of ‘Bardana’ for wheat
supply.
