Quetta—Shutter-down and wheel-jam strike was
observed for the third day Sunday in protest
against the murder of three Baloch leaders. In
various incidents of violence, two vehicles were
set on fire while the protesters blocked the
national highways at various places.
Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
formally invited the PML (N) to rejoin the
Federal Cabinet as both democratic parties have
a common objective to strengthen the democratic
institutions and to steer the country out of its
present challenges. He extended this invitation
to President PML (N) and Chief Minister Punjab,
Mian Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, who met him at the
PM’s House here this afternoon.
Islamabad—Mr Firdous Ahmed Shah, chairman of
Democratic Political Movement (DPM), an
affiliate of All Parties Hurriyet Conference,
occupied Kashmir, has called upon the world
community to persuade India to shun her
deepening intransigence and chauvinism in the
region.

Tokyo—President Asif Ali Zardari has very busy
schedule here for his next week visit, an
informed source said Sunday. President Zardari
during his April 15-17 stay will attend an
important meeting of Friends of Democratic
Pakistan and a donor’s conference, besides
presiding over Business Conference and holding
talks with key Japanese cabinet ministers.
Karachi—A seventy-year old man, who was
protesting outside Press Club here against
illegal occupation of their village land by an
influential Wadera died of heart attack on
Sunday. After his death the other protesters
said they will not go back with the dead body
till the government officials met them.
New Delhi—Pakistan and India have to address
outstanding issues between them including
Kashmir for good relations. In an interview with
Karan Thapar in Devil’s Advocate programme on
CNN-IBN, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi
said India’s concerns can only be addressed
through talks.
