The move of Swat Taliban to gain a foothold in
Buner district, must be viewed with utmost
seriousness by the NWFP provincial
administration, the federal government and by
Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters. The
aggression and expansionist designs of this
extremist group, is a brazen violation of the
agreement signed by TNSM with the NWFP’s
provincial government. This Taliban aggression
needs an immediate response, to evict the rebels

inaction of the provincial administration, and
Peshawar’s lack of determination to maintain
government writ in Swat, Fazalullah insurgents
are acting as the new conquerors of the
undefended districts in the province.
