Islamabad—At least eight FC security personnel
were killed and several injured in a suicide
bomb attack at the FC barrack on the capital’s
Margalla road on Saturday, Chief Commissioner
Islamabad Faseel Asghar told the media.
Peshawar—Adding to their score of innocent
killings on Pakistani soil, the ferocious
American drones in yet another attack, fourth
within a fortnight and second in the month of
April, killed up to 14 people and wounded many
others in North Waziristan Agency Saturday wee
hours. Those killed also include children and
women.
Quetta— Police recovered at least 50 bodies and
scores of unconscious persons from a container
on Saturday in Hazar Ganji area of the
provincial capital, Quetta. A number of rescue
teams arrived at the scene and rushed the
fainted people to Bolan Medical Complex where
emergency has been declared. The container,
which was found parked on the outskirts of the
Quetta, was carrying nearly 110 people,
apparently illegal immigrants being transported
from Afghanistan to Iran via Pakistan.
Islamabad—In a positive development, Tehran has
provided 50 million Euros for laying of 170
kilometer transmission line for the import of
1000 MW of electricity from Iran, a senior
official said.
Garhi Khuda Baksh—Tens of thousands converged at
the graves of the Bhuttos here Saturday and paid
respects to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the
30th anniversary of his execution at the hands
of Ziaul Haq. Speaking to a crowd of party
faithful near the Bhutto family mausoleum at
Garhi Khuda Baksh, in Sindh province, President
Zardari said he would stop militants from taking
over the country and forge ahead with Zulfiqar
Ali Bhutto’s mission.

Karachi—During the current fiscal year economy
is likely to remain swinging between 2.5 percent
to 3.5 percent and annualized inflation is
expected to be around 19.5 percent to 20.5
percent whereas overall fiscal and current
account deficits are likely to be between 4.3
percent to 4.7 percent and 5.8 percent to 6.2
percent of the GDP, respectively.
