Dhaka—Bangladesh ended all speculations over the
fate of Bangladesh-Pakistan cricket series when
State Minister for Sports Ahad Ali Sarker
disclosed in Dhaka Monday that Pakistan’s tour
would take place after March 26.
Durbin—Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers ensured
the Durban Test would go to day five as they
added 164 runs for the second wicket in chasing
546. After Australia declared at 331 for 5, the
South African openers, Hashim Amla and Neil
McKenzie saw their side through lunch. But Peter
Siddle dismissed both early in the second
session after which Kallis and de Villiers dug
in. South Africa will need the two to bat long
into day five if they are to have nay hope of
saving the Test.
A WEEK after terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan
team in Lahore, Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, has
said that he expects teams to tour Pakistan in
“six to nine months”. He was also confident that
Pakistan would remain a co-host of the 2011
World Cup. “I’d expect tours to start again as
soon as possible. I’d give it six to nine
months,” Butt told BBC Radio 5 Live. “I
definitely think that we will stage part of the
World Cup in 2011.”
Islamabad—Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)’s
President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has
approved 67 players in the build up for the
National Under-13 team to appear in AFC Under-13
Festival of Football (South Asia Region) in Iran
from May 10-23.
