Kashmiris observe Right of Self-determination Day

Islamabad—Kashmiris around the world and living on both sides of Line of Control (LoC) have observed Right of Self Determination with their traditional zeal and zest on Monday and reiterated to continue their struggle till achievement of goal of independence.

It was on this day in 1949, that the United Nations adopted a resolution, acknowledging right of self-determination of Kashmiris and giving them the right to decide their future by themselves.

In connection with Right of Self Determination Day, processions, rallies and seminars were held and the participants have drawn the attention of the international community towards on-going brutal activities by Indian troops. Memorandums were also presented to offices of the United Nations.

The day was started with special prayers for the solution of lingering issue of Kashmir.

The speakers in a seminar held in Indian Held Kashmir while paying great tribute to martyrs of Kashmir struggle vowed that the blood of martyrs would not go in waste and the struggle would be continued until to bring their mission to its logical end.

The Hurriyat Leaders while terming recent held elections as fraud said that Kashmiri people by not participating in elections have failed India to get its objectives and time has come for India to accept the reality.

Rallies were also held in Islamabad and Azad Kashmir attended by segments from all walks of life. Convenor APHC Azad Kashmir chapter Muhammad Farooq Rehmani presented Memorandum to UN observes urging UN Secretary General to play his role for solution of Kashmir dispute.—Online
