Threats to impose war will not be tolerated: Babar

Tahir Rashid

Rawalpindi—“Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and threats to impose war would not be tolerated. We want to avoid war and want peace but our desire of peace could not be taken as our weakness”, Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan has said.

During his speech at a public’s rally to mark the 41st commemoration day of Pakistan People’s Party here on Sunday Dr.Awan said that the central as well as all the provincial governments would complete their five year constitutional tenure. “The doors of dictatorship have been closed forever and now, no Ayub, Yahya, Zia or Musharraf would appear again in the country”, he expressed.

He said that it was the historical fact that PPP always came into power, when entire institutions had been deteriorated and country was passing through extremely severe crises. “First time when founder of the party Zulfikar Ali Bhutto got power, the country was facing such a big crisis that was hard to overcome after East Pakistan tragedy. But ZAB made new Pakistan from the ashes of broken country and gave courage to the people. He gave constitution and nuclear power to Pakistan.” he added.

He apprised that when Benazir Bhutto came to power, the entire country was upset due to policies of a dictator Zia-ul-Haq and Afghan War. The heroin and kalashnikov culture was prevailing in the country.
