PML-Q opposes renaming NWFP as Pukhtunkhwa

Islamabad—PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has demanded of the government to make an appeal to all expatriate Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan and start special incentive schemes for them.

Addressing a news conference at the conclusion of PML-Q Central Working Committee meeting here on Sunday, he said the new name of NWFP should be chosen with full consensus instead of Pukhtunkhwa.

He said there was no need of requesting IMF to provide loan facility to Pakistan. “The meeting decided not to speak on Party differences before media and if anybody does, special committee will take action against him”, he said.

He said PML-Q Central Working Committee passed thirteen resolutions on national and international issues.

“The efforts of some elements who want to fuel the differences have failed and they did not succeed in their motives”, he said.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that thirteen committees to form policies on defence, law and order, media, discipline, coordination, international affairs, health, economy, industries, food, agriculture, labour and education. The policies will be highlighted through Parliament.

He criticized the freezing of funds and victimization of Local Bodies.

He denied any agreement between PML-Q and USA regarding incursions in tribal areas.

Earlier, at Central Working Committee meeting, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said we will take all the stakeholders along and resolve every issue mutually.

He said PML-Q is the biggest political force in the country. He said we took courageous decision in our period regarding international issues.

He said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PML-N have failed to resolve problems of the people and in this situation we would have to be united.

The CWC meeting was attended by Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Gohar Ayub Khan, Ijazul Haq, Kamal Ali Aga, Tariq Azeem Khan, Engineer Amir Maqam, Akram Zaki, Nisar Muhammad Khan, Mian Munir Ahmed and Haleem Adil Sheikh.—NNI
