Brain drain serious issue

Karachi—Brain drain is serious issue as large numbers of trained
professionals preferred to leave their country as soon as they get
the opportunity and it is the responsibility of both public and
private sector organizations to devise ways and means so that the
skilled worker preferred to remain in Pakistan.
The 6th International Human Resource Management forum started today
at a local hotel in Karachi. Prominent International and National
Human Resource practitioners presented paper on different important
issues pertaining to Human Resource and participants got a lot of
benefit by listening and learning form the experience of
participating speakers.
Jon Eddy Abdullah President & CEO Telenor Pakistan in his key note
address said “We, as an industry, are going through a tough time
right now. In these times of worldwide and local financial crisis,
increased taxation, credit crunch, hyper-inflation, and energy
shortages, we all forget that a knowledgeable worker will have to be
treated better than an industrial age manual laborer as we need him/
her now more then ever to weather the storm.
Abdullah said; People in my world are the only sustainable
advantage. We, at Telenor Pakistan, will continue and even
accelerate the way we use our culture to magnify the Brand
attributes of Telenor Pakistan. Abdullah praised the efforts of
Nutshell Forum for organizing this event in an immaculate manner in
these turbulent times and assured them of his organization’s support
in future also.
Day one of International Human Resource management forum come to a
close with an interesting and thought provoking CEOs panel
discussion on the topic What CEOs want from HRM. 300 professionals
from telecom, banking & finance, petroleum, pharmaceutical,
