Taliban claim killing of Herat intelligence chief, AG

Islamabad—Taliban sources Monday claimed to have killed a provincial Intelligence chief and an Attorney General in Herat province of Afghanistan.

According to a Taliban source the two important Afghan officials were killed Monday afternoon “at approximately 2.30 pm local Afghan time.

The source claimed that both the officials were killed when a remote control landmines set by Taliban in Adrashkan District near the centre of Shendand District of Herat province exploded when their vehicles were passing by.

It was said that “in the explosion the vehicle was completely destroyed and both puppets the Intelligence Chief Abdul Karem and Attorney General were killed.

Taliban also claimed that seven NATO personal were also killed when their tank was blown up in Logar. Independent sources could not confirm the Taliban claim.
