Khar’s claim rejected

Islamabad—Secretary General Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab chapter Ghulam Abbas on Friday refuted the claims made by Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Khar as unfounded and far away from reality. In a press statement issued here Abbas said by terming the will of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto fake Mr Khar was trying to get some cheap publicity.

IHC rejects habeas corpus plea, petition by PTV official

Islamabad—The Islamabad High Court here Friday rejected a writ petition filed by a husband for initiating habeas corpus proceedings against his in-laws for allegedly not allowing his wife to join him. IHC Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam heard the plea and dismissed it, observing that the case could not be heard under habeas corpus provisions and also because a lower court was already hearing the case.

Construction of bridge in Phase-11
DHA, Malaysian firm sign agreement

Islamabad—Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and a Malaysian company Nafat Corporation Berhad on Friday signed an agreement for construction of access bridge across Ling River OMG Sector DHA Phase- II (extension) Islamabad. Brig (R) Javed Iqbal, Administrator DHA, Islamabad and Dato Jimmy Na Keng Joo, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian company signed the agreement.

Need for peaceful pluralistic world

Islamabad—Good Politics, non-egotism, moderate attitude, positive religious values and liberal views create global understanding. Islam has a very strong pluralistic element in its scriptures. The speakers expressed these views at a seminar here. B.A. Malik, Former Ambassador of Pakistan said, most of the world religions stress the importance of compassion for everybody.

ITP’s performance lauded

Islamabad—The Interior Ministry has highly commended the performance of the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) and urged it to keep up its good work for traffic management and respect for rules on the capital’s roads. The appreciation came in a letter addressed by the ministry to the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, after conducting an inquiry into complaints by certain quarters.
