IIU inaugurates new auditorium

Islamabad—The new Auditorium Complex of International Islamic University, (IIU) was inaugurated here Friday at Faisal Mosque Campus of the University.

Rector IIU, Dr.Manzoor Ahmed was chief guest on the occasion while President IIU, Dr.Anwar Hussain Siddiqui and a large number of faculty members attend the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Manzoor Ahmed said the universities are the hub of knowledge and for that purpose auditoriums and related facilities play an important role.

“The basic aim of IIU is to arrange a meaningful dialogue between Muslims and the world”, he added.

He announced that University would arrange International events in the newly constructed Auditorium for bridging gap among civilizations.

Dr. Siddiqui in his speech said that a special grant of Rs.50 million was provided to the University by the Government to rehabilitate, renovate and furnish the Auditorium. “This was a very expensive proposition and would have cost around Rs.30 million,” he said.
