CDGK to open part of Lyari River Bridge in one month
Mustafa issues order to prohibit land grabbing, excavation of bajri

Karachi—Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has said that in order to solve traffic problems the city government has performed development works under thorough planning while considering future problems.

The previously blocked and inaccessible roads have been opened up as new ways to reduce the pressure of traffic. He expressed these views during the inspection of the development works for under construction Link Bridge between Gadap and New Karachi Town at Lyari River.

The City Nazim said that the new ‘Shahrah’ has been constructed to connect Super Highway with Northern Bypass. The road on both sides of this Shahrah has already been completed.

A part of the bridge will be opened to traffic within a month while both parts of the bridge will be available for traffic within two months.

He said that hundreds of factory workers in North Karachi Town and Federal B. Area would be facilitated with this new Shahra while the travel distance from North Karachi, Orangi and Surjani to Super Highway will also be reduced considerably.

Meanwhile, Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has issued an order Under Section 144 CR.PC prohibited all acts of unauthorized occupation and encroachments on the government property within the jurisdiction of City District Karachi.

In his order which shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of 7 days, the City Nazim said that it has been made to appear before him that some groups of land mafia and land grabbers are engaged / involved in illegal and unauthorized occupation and encroachments on the government property within the jurisdiction of City District Karachi, causing colossal loss to the government exchequer.

These groups of land mafia and land grabbers have also threatened the functionaries of the City District Government Karachi by creating hurdles through interfering the anti-encroachment initiatives / actions.

Meanwhile, through another order under section 144 Cr. Pc. Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has imposed ban on the illegal and unauthorized excavation of Reti/Bajri/Earth and Stone within the jurisdiction of City District Karachi for a period of 7 days.—APP
