Warid Telecom all set to connect whole country
CEO Zawaydeh unveils new company logo

Lahore—”W arid Telecom will connect every corner of Pakistan through its mobile service by the end of 2009". This was stated by Marwan Zawaydeh the dynamic Chief Executive Officer of Warid Telecom while speaking at an exclusive press briefing arranged for the media. The impressive ceremony was organised at exclusive Royal Palm Club to share Warid Telecom’s achievements, recognitions and future plans when the company is completing three years of successful operations in Pakistan. Established since May 2005, Warid Telecom is one of the fastest growing GSM operators of the country. Speaking enthusiastically at the occasion, Marwan said, “During the last three years of our operations, we have achieved all our targets. Our biggest achievements are our loyal & satisfied subscriber base and gaining the strong reputation for the best quality network by deploying latest technology in the GSM network. Under the leadership of our Chairman His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan and guidance of Bashir A Tahir- Chief Executive Officer Abu Dhabi Group we are focusing the full power of our’ assets to become the best mobile phone operator and the primary choice of Pakistani subscriber, fulfilling the consumer’s communication needs.” Marwan added, “We have started investing heavily to double our network -’capacity and coverage and plan to take our installed cell sites to more than 5,000 by the end of this year. This will enhance our existing state-of-the-art network and _lso result in connecting the remote areas while maintaining best network coverage, voice,clarity and innovations. Our total investments and commitments made will reach $1.5 billion by end ,2008 and this figure will further increase by $1 billion by end of 2009.” Marwan Zawaydeh unveiled the new logo of the company and said, “Ouf new logo has a more approachable image and will strengthen the W arid ideI1tity while keeping the customers in focus and encompass the expanding reach of Warid not just in Pakistan but in an international footprint.”,
Thomas Yeo, Warid Telecom’s Chief Commercial Officer on explaining the new tag line said “With our strengthened GPRS / EDGE enabled network, we would empower our customers to create their own life style network.” He announced the re-Iaunch of the company towards a new dimension and shared the latest innovation offered through Warid’s products and services to its subscribers as part of Warid’s Third Anniversary celebration. Speaking heartily at the occasion, Thomas said, “Mobile services may be at its development stage in Pakistan but the challenging market dynamics offer great opportunity for Warid ‘to re-invent itself to deliver only the best to its customers.
