Peshawar— The visiting newly appointed Regional Director of UNICEF for South Asia, Mr. Daniel Toole called on the NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani here at the Governor’s House on Wednesday and exchanged views on the contribution of the organization in ensuring better health and educational facilities both in the province and FATA.

MPA calls for changes in examination system

Hyderabad— MPA Humera Alwani in a press conference here discussed the proposed draft bill titled “Elimination of copy culture and cheating in examinations Bill-2008”. She said the draft was shared with the media to help engender public opinion and seek fruitful recommendations from people which may be incorporated in the draft before being tabled and adopted by the provincial assembly.Humera Alwani said deteriorating standard and quality of education throughout Sindh required immediate attention and urgent steps to be taken to save the future generation.

Zones established for fair distribution of gas to industries

Gujranwala— The implementation on the Sui gas pipeline agreement between Iran and Pakistan has started and the pipeline would enter Pakistan from Khuzdar, Balochistan, stated by Managing Director, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), Abdur Rashid Lone.

Faryal Talpur inaugurates ward at Women Hospital

Larkana— Former district nazim Nawabshah and a candidate contesting election from NA-207 (LARKANA-IV) Dr. Faryal Talpur inaugurated the gynaecology /Obs Ward at Shaikh Zaid Women Hospital here. She also visited the various section of the ward after the inauguration and enquired after health from women patients admitted there.

APWA leader seeks end to gender discrimination

Hyderabad— Violence against women is an every day reality and existence is either denied or condoned and has been used as a tool to control and dominate women and it is so pervasive and prevalent that many women are compelled to accept it as a fait accomplice. Chairperson, All Pakistan Women Association ( APWA), Begum Almas Zafar talking to APP said women constitute almost half of the population of Pakistan and the country’s constitution guarantees equal rights for them.
