Twin City Inter-University Challenge
UET, FUMC, AMC shine on first day

Islamabad—The “Twin-City Inter-University Challenge,” concluded here at Institute of Space Technology, which was particiapted by 13 universities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in various competitions.

The two-day event was a mixture of different competitions including Declamation, Bilingual Story writing and Essay writing, Video Shoot, Photography, Dramatics and All Rounder competitions.

The participating universities included: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Army Medical College (AMC), Military College of Signals (MCS), Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), NUST Business School (NBS), Foundation University Islamabad (FUI), Islamic International University (IIU) and Preston University.

The wide assortment of contests proved to be a platform for students to interact and share their ideas with each other. In fact the maiden event was a solo expedition by IST aimed at inculcating the spirit of extra-curricular activities among the students of universities.

On the first day of the extravaganza, the contests of Story Writing, Essay Writing and Video Shoots were held. After the inauguration of the event, the Bilingual Declamation contest took place. This competition gave an enthusiastic start to the whole event.

In English category, Hassan Ali from UET-Taxila won the first prize while Second position was shared by Anis Qazi from Foundation University Medical College and Nabil Tahir of AMC. Hadia Rehman from FJWU bagged third position. In Urdu category, Syed Urooj Akhter of CIIT triumphed the contest finding first position, the runners-up were Rimsha Mehboob from IIU-W and Asim Minallah of AMC. Ali Abbas Rizvi, Professor Ather Zaidi and Qari Saeed Akhter having honorable names in the community of Debates, literature, academics and arts were the judges of the contest.

The Essay writing competition was also an interesting event in which Raffay Tasawwar from MCS toppled the contest, whereas Umar Malik of NUST Business School was the runner-up. M.Arsalan from CIIT and Mawra Ilyas representing IIU-W, stood third.—APP
