BITE signs MoUs with universities for research

Peshawar—Director British Institute of Technology and E-Commerce (BITE), Dr. Muhammad Farmer has said that his institute has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with different public sector universities in Pakistan to encourage direct contact and cooperation between their faculties, administrative staff and students. He expressed these views while exclusively talking to APP here before leaving for UK.
The BITE three-member delegation comprised of Dr. Muhammad Farmer, Prof. Stephen Moore and Prof Dr. Abdul Waheed Khan visited Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore during their weeklong stay in the country. Dr. Muhammad Farmer said that the BITE had inked MoUs with different universities and institutes to peruse faculty training and academic cooperation exchange of staff and research teaching and discussion, exchange of scientific and technological information joint research activities, exchange of students under MS/ Ph. D. split degree programmes.
“We signed MoUs with Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad and the University of Punjab, Lahore while agreement would be signed with the University of Peshawar in Peshawar and other educational institutions in future.
Hailing from Bangladesh, Dr. Farmer said that Pakistani educational institutions would benefit from the collaboration, which would open new venues of higher education for teachers and students. He said that a lot of students came to the BITE from the Middle East as well as from Asian countries.
“BITE is a pre-eminent Institution committed to innovation in research, consulting and education,” he added. He said that the BITE had started linkages programmes at universities in various countries, including India, Malaysia, Nigeria and Pakistan. The BITE Director said that the institute provided the building blocks in understanding for those who seek exceptional knowledge of technology, management and e-commerce.
The curriculum of the institute offers students broad-based, academic and practical experience that will enable students to learn and implement current theories in management and the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT), he added. Answering a question, he said that the BITE mission was that to be recognized as a world class educational institute specialized in innovative business technology and e-commerce. Dr Farmer said that there was no dearth of talent among Pakistani students, but they had not been able to come forward due to a lack of opportunities.—APP
