Jamali offers to unite all Muslim Leagues

Akhtar Jamal

Islamabad—Veteran Muslim League leader Zafarulllah Khan Jamali has offered to mediate between all Pakistan Muslim League factions and urged PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to consider unification with other factions.
Speaking to each other via a local TV channel Nawaz Sharif assured Jamali that the issue can be discussed during a meeting between the two.
Former prime minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali urged that “in the light of situation faced by the nation there was an urgent need for unity among all factions of the Muslim League.
When asked if PML-N was ready to reconcile with PML-Q, Nawaz Shairf did not give a clear response but agreed that such issues can be discussed during a meeting. However, he made it clear that “you know what is the position of my party about PML-Q.”
Nawaz Sharif also denied that his party was taken into confidence on the appointment of Governor of Punjab. When reminded that People’s Party leaders had claimed that PML-N was taken into confidence before the appointment of Mr. Salman Taseer, Nawaz Sharif said that “taking into confidence is different and just informing is quite different.”
