SCO extends WLL in Northern Areas

Rawalpindi—Special Communications Organization is providing excellent conditions and facilities to its staff and workers, enabling them to provide better facilities and services to subscribers of SCO. This was revealed by Director General, Special Communications Organization, Major General Shahid Maqbool while addressing outfit during his recent visit to Northern Areas.
He added that junior staff plays vital role in the progress of organization, thereby utilize their potential in serving the subscribers and organization and we will keep adding every possible facility for our workers. He also visited Sector Headquarters Gilgit and exchanged views in detail on Telecom and Information Technology concerning Northern Areas with civil, military officials and engineers.
Later, he visited Kono Das BTS site, digital exchange, SCOM and SNET centers in Gilgit and stressed the need of enhancing the guality of services further by utilizing their best potentials. DG SCO added that the Northern Areas should be developed in the telecom sector to bring the dwellers at par with the developed areas. DG also visited District Ghizer and inaugurated digital exchange and mobile service at Gupus and Gallapur followed by inauguration of another digital exchange at Chtoor Khand (Ashkoman). While interacting with journalists at Skardu, he informed that widely stretched Baltistan has already been provided with modern telecom facilities and connected with rest of the world by SCO.
This will not only boost local tourism instead will also attract foreign tourists bringing economic uplift in Baltistan, he added.
