PML-N ready to quit Punjab Govt: Hashmi

Islamabad—Central Leader PML-N Makhdoom Javed Hashmi on Wednesday underlined that we are mentally prepared to quit Punjab government as masses gave us mandate for restoration of Judges but we failed.
While talking to journalists outside Parliament House on Wednesday, Javed Hashmi made it clear that we are not greedy for power but we want respect of masses.
PML-N has fulfilled its commitment to masses by submitting resignations, he said.
He said that power and government are not important for us as compared to the country’s interest.
He said that PML-N members took oath for the restoration of deposed Judges but decided to quit the government, as we could not fulfill the promise made in front of the nation.
He said that we will support lawyers movement thick and thin adding that Nawaz Sharif and other senior leaders will not put one foot backwards from the supremacy of judiciary.
Our last drop of blood is available for the lawyers, as we want to get rid of dictatorship, he held.
He assured the nation that we will not disappoint them as they gave us their mandate on February 18.
PML-N has always fought for democracy so we have decided to quit Punjab government as masses gave us mandate for restoration of judges but we failed to restore them after passing of deadline.
As long as Musharraf stays in power, country cannot move forward towards the path of democracy, Hashmi pointed out.—Online
