PN’s Tariq leads in CNS golf

Islamabad—Tariq Mehmood of Pakistan Navy took a wide lead in the gross category while two golfers were tied for the top spot in the net section after the opening day’s play in the main match of the Chief of Naval Staff Amateurs Golf Cup at Islamabad Golf Club on Friday.
Tariq Mahmood of Pakistan Navy was first in gross by playing 2-under par followed by Taimur Hassan who scored 75 after play over first 18 holes of the 54- hole main event which will conclude on Sunday.
The 3rd in gross on Friday was Mahmood Aziz with 77.
In net category of the main match, Amir Akbar and Lt Cdr Rizwan both finished joint first with the score of Net 67 followed by Rashid Malik with score of Net 69.
In ladies gross, the first on the opening day with 81 was Agnis Dekok while in ladies net, Nadia Raja was on top with 68.
The CNS Amateurs Golf Cup is being organized by the Pakistan Navy in collaboration with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates.
Senior and juniors categories will also be played during the three day tournament.—APP
